The Tribe wrap of their series with the Mariners today.
Not sure how much help he will provide, but the Indians recalled infielder Cord Phelps from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday and optioned right-hander Zach McAllister back to Triple-A following his Tuesday start, writes MLB.com reporter Joey Nowalk.
Phelps will be making his second appearance with the Tribe this season, having spent the majority of the season with Columbus, where he has hit .294 with 51 runs, 25 doubles, 14 homers and 63 RBIs in 97 games.
He ranks seventh in the International League in OPS (.868), eighth in on-base percentage (.376) and 12th in slugging percentage (.492).
Not out of it
Don't tell manager Manny Acta the Cleveland Indians are out of contention until they are definitely out of contention.
"I'm just trying to win ballgames," Cleveland manager Manny Acta said. "Wake me up when we're completely out of it mathematically."
