Ohio State Buckeyes P.M. links: What if Joe Bauserman excels? Previews; Akron and Kent State, too

Bauserman, a senior, and promising true freshman Braxton Miller will probably both play in early games, though most expect Miller to take over full-time. Many other links.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Ohio State senior Joe Bauserman and true freshman Braxton Miller are both slated for extensive snaps at quarterback when the Buckeyes open their season against Akron's Zips on Saturday at Ohio Stadium.

Bauserman will start. Conventional wisdom is, however, that Miller -- with his exciting potential -- will gradually ease into being the full-time QB within the first few games.

Is Bauserman being taken for granted, as if there's no chance he will play well enough to secure the bulk of playing time and give the Buckeyes their best chance to win games?

Does a Big Ten preview on SportingNews.com come off as presumptuous with this statement posed in the form of a couple questions?

On the spot: Joe Bauserman. It’s only a matter of time before Ohio State’s fifth-year senior quarterback gives way to freshman Braxton Miller. But can he hold it together in the meantime? And can he use his knowledge of the offense to help Miller navigate the rough spots when he finally has lost the job?
