After visit by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Belgrade, the optimism of Serbian officials over getting of the candidate status for the EU membership has been shaken. There is day-and-night work on fulfillment of the remaining obligations from the Action Plan. That is why Belgrade believes that in spite of everything it deserves the EC recommendation for the candidacy. Still, the Government is aware that the recommendation is not going to be given in case of no progress in dialog with Pristina.
