Hospital wards closed after outbreak of a diarrhoea and vomiting bug

EAST YORKS: Two hospital wards are closed following an outbreak of a diarrhoea and vomiting bug.

Ward 18 at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham and ward 8 at Hull Royal Infirmary are shut due to norovirus.

Ward 18 has been closed since March 6 and is undergoing a deep clean in preparation for reopening, while ward 8 closed on March 11.

Hull And East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is urging people who have diarrhoea and vomiting symptoms to stay away from hospitals until they have been symptom-free for 48 hours.
