Exhibition to feature on TV? Corset is!

An exhibition that includes seductive underwear from the past 300 years is featuring on a television programme this week.

The Support and Seduction display, which is about to go on show at Snibston Discovery Museum, in Coalville, features a range of items from Victorian corsets to 1970s Y-fronts.

This week, it is appearing in a series of pieces on the BBC's The One Show.

Phillip Warren, curator of collections at Leicestershire County Council, was on the show on Monday to talk about corsets.

He was due to appear last night to talk about bras and will be on again tonight to speak about girdles.

A camera crew from the BBC visited the museum to film the collection.

Mr Warren said: "It is an amazing opportunity to display the talent of Leicestershire and encourage people to come to view the collection."

The collection has been created with the help of students at the Contour Centre at De Montfort University and the Leicestershire Museum services.

The Support and Seduction exhibition opens to the public on Saturday, May 28.
