Neal Jacobs, St. Ignatius

What Neal did last week: In four games, right fielder went 9-for-16 with a home run, a triple, three doubles and 10 RBI. In a 6-4 win over Canfield, drove in all six runs. Also threw out runner at third base and threw home on a fly ball to prevent a run from scoring.

About Neal: Has committed to play baseball at Central Michigan and will study business. Second year on varsity. Enjoys playing electric guitar. Favorites include Marlins, Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols, "Entourage" TV show, "Step Brothers" movie and "Lose Yourself" song by Eminem.

Scott Sency, Medina
Sport: Baseball
Class: Senior
Age: 17

What Scott did last week: In five games, pitcher/first baseman was 7-of-16 with 11 RBI and two runs scored. In 12-3 win over Brunswick, had complete game five-hitter with 16 strikeouts and two earned runs. Also went 2-for-3 with a double, home run and five RBI.

About Scott: Committed to Saginaw Valley State for baseball. Throws and bats left-handed, but golfs and writes right-handed. Enjoys playing basketball and golf. Favorites include the Indians, "MLB 2K11" video game, Thyme restaurant and Nike Jordan clothes. Top school memory is winning conference and district titles last year.

Mackenzie Wallace, Copley
Sport: Softball
Class: Junior
Age: 16
Ht: 5-4

What Mackenzie did last week: In five wins, right-handed pitcher combined for 51 strikeouts. At the plate she was 11-for-19 with three doubles, six RBI, 10 runs scored and four stolen bases.

About Mackenzie: Third-year starter at pitcher plays softball year-round. Bats left-handed. Hopes to study secondary education and play softball in college. Member of Spirit Club and choir. Participates in school musicals. Favorites include the Indians, English class and music by Taylor Swift. Would like to vacation in Italy.

Shelby Bitter, Hudson
Sport: Softball
Class: Sophomore
Age: 15
Ht: 5-6

What Shelby did last week: Batting leadoff and playing third base, hit .529 with five runs, six RBI, six doubles and one home run as team went 4-0, defeating Cuyahoga Falls, Walsh Jesuit, Sandusky Perkins and Avon.

About Shelby: Hopes to study psychology and play sports in college. Was No. 2 golfer on ninth-place state qualifying team, and was an all-district performer. Enjoys running. Favorites include golfer Phil Mickelson, chemistry class, "Cupcake Wars" TV show, "Anchorman" movie, "Thirteen Reasons Why" book. Top school memory is her first home run, in this season's opener.

Ernest Levert, Rhodes

What Ernest did last week: At Bellaire Relays, won 200 meters in personal-best 22.0 seconds. Ran third leg on winning 4x100 (43.70) and 4x200 (1:31.3) relays, and on second-place 4x400 (3: 29.3). Rhodes finished third.

About Ernest: Is a second cousin of late R&B crooner Gerald Levert. Hopes to study sports medicine or physical education in college while playing football or running track. Listens to Lil' Wayne song "No Quitter, Go Getter" before races. Wants to try cutting hair. Favorites include "Remember the Titans" movie and Golden Corral restaurant.

Leighton Antonio, Hudson

What Leighton did last week: In dual meet loss to Brunswick, placed first in 100 meter s (11.3), first in 200 (22.0) and ran on winning 4x400 relay (3:30.2). At Wooster Invitational, won 100 (11.0) and 200 (22.3) and ran on winning 4x400 (3:29.2) Hudson won the team title.

About Leighton: Hopes to play football and run track in college. Pre-meet routine is eating pasta. Favorites include University of Florida football team and Gators running back/sprinter Jeff Demps, TGI Friday's restaurant and "Friday Night Lights" movie. Says his favorite song is "whatever coach [Rod] O'Donnell likes."

Hannah Neczypor, North Royalton
Sport: Track
Class: Senior
Age: 18
Ht: 5-5

What Hannah did last week: Established new state record in 3,200 meters at 10: 16.10 while winning event at Berea Relays. Time ranks second nationally this season. Previous record, 10: 17.33, stood for 15 years (Beaumont's Katy Radkewich in 1996). Neczypor also ran on second-place 4x1,600 relay (4: 54 split) and was named meet MVP.

About Hannah: Georgetown recruit and two-time Plain Dealer cross country runner of the year. Member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Favorite memory is running 4x100 relay with distance teammates in recent dual meet, then getting disqualified for wearing earrings.

Amber Young, Orange
Sport: Track
Class: Senior
Age: 17
Ht: 5-0

What Amber did last week: Anchored shuttle hurdle relay team that won Orange Relays (1: 07.0). Shuttle hurdle team is undefeated, and she has anchored all season. Also placed first in sprint medley (1: 56.2) and was on second-place 4x100 and 4x200 relays.

About Amber: Has committed to Richmond, where she will be a hurdler and study chemistry or biology with hope of becoming a physician. Enjoys photography. Favorites include calculus class, pasta meal, "Running with Scissors" book, "The Hangover" movie and "Pretty Little Liars' TV show.

David Shankman, Solon
Sport: Tennis
Class: Sophomore
Age: 16
Ht: 5-6
Wt: 135

What David did last week: Went 3-0 at second doubles against Strongsville, Mayfield and University School. Won Lexington Invitational at second doubles, where he and his partners were 3-0. Is 9-0 in singles play.

About David: Vice president of sophomore class student council. Hopes to play college tennis. Favorites include French tennis player Gael Monfils, "Step Brothers" movie, music by Bob Marley, tennisrecruiting.net website, sushi meal, Chipotle restaurant and Spanish class.
