Buzzcocks star Phill in city for book signing
HULL: TV funnyman and star of BBC2's Never Mind The Buzzcocks Phill Jupitus is visiting Hull next week.
The former press officer to Hull's Housemartins will be visiting Waterstone's in Jameson Street to sign copies of his latest book Good Morning Nantwich: Adventures In Breakfast Radio.
The book is Phill's account of what possesses a right-minded comedian to quit his day job for life as a breakfast radio DJ.
His signing will start at 1pm, on Friday, May 6.
EAST YORKS: Next week's referendum on whether the UK should change its voting system will cost taxpayers in East Yorkshire more than �650,000.
Councils are expected to pay for the referendum before claiming back their costs from Government. The massive payout comes at the same time as councils are having to make millions of pounds of savings.
The cost will be �235,975 in Hull and �421,373 in the East Riding.
HULL: Archie Kelly, one of the famous faces from TV comedy Phoenix Nights, will headline a show tonight.
Archie, who played Kenny Senior in the show, will be joined by R.David, Sam Harland and Mike Morris at the stand-up gig at Fruit tonight.
The former teacher played the serial liar Kenny, but is also known for his roles in Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Shameless and The Street. Doors open at the Humber Street venue at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

HULL: Visitors to the Streetlife Museum in the city's High Street will be able to meet a Victorian chemist on Tuesday. The In Touch With ... Inventions exhibit is open from 11am.
