Driffield motorcyclist fighting for life after crash is due to marry

A motorcyclist is fighting for his life in hospital after a crash in North Yorkshire.

Pete Drury, 62, of Driffield, is due to marry his partner Carol Lewis later this year.

Police said he suffered "very serious, life-threatening injuries" after colliding with a car towing a caravan on the B1257 near Helmsley on Sunday.

Mr Drury was featured in the Mail last year when he and Miss Lewis got engaged.

The couple met at night hosted by Singles Together.

Mr Drury was airlifted to the James Cook Memorial Hospital in Middlesbrough following the crash, where he remains in a critical condition.
