Was sports car stolen to order? Mazda 6 MPS one of only 500

EAST RIDING: Police are investigating whether a high-powered sports car taken from the driveway of a home in Thorngumbald was stolen to order.

Thieves entered the home in Main Road on Friday afternoon and took the keys to the silver Mazda 6 MPS before stealing the car.

The vehicle is one of only 500 in the UK.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said investigations are ongoing, and they have not ruled out that the car was taken to order.

Anyone with information should call Humberside Police on 0845 6060222.

● Hull police are warning drivers not to leave sat navs and other valuables on display in parked cars.

It follows three thefts of sat navs from vans in the past few days.

A thief took a Tom Tom sat nav and a box of equipment after breaking into a white-coloured Ford Transit van in St Georges Road, Hull, on Monday between 8.15am and 9.45am.

A Garmin sat nav was taken from a locked van in Plantation Drive, Hull, at some time between 4pm last Friday and 7.15am last Monday.

And a thief took a fuel card and Tom Tom after breaking into a van in Ingleton Avenue, Hull, between 11pm last Sunday and 7am on Monday.

Sergeant John Fuller said: "We are urging motorists to make sure they remove all valuable items and any clues, such as sat nav brackets and holders, from their vehicles when leaving them. The slightest temptation can be enough for a thief to break into your car or van."

Anyone with information about the thefts can call Humberside Police on 0845 60 60 222, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
