BROOKSVILLE — Halfway through the fourth quarter of Tuesday's Wiregrass Ranch-Nature Coast tilt, Sharks center Tyler Bergantino walked to the bench area to take a seat during a timeout and his chair collapsed from under him.

The 6-foot-9 prodigy chuckled about the fall, but there wasn't much to laugh about for Wiregrass when it tried driving to the basket on Bergantino.

The junior blocked six shots and forced countless others to be altered, as Nature Coast wrapped up the No. 1 seed in the Class 4A, District 8 tournament with a 53-45 victory.

"We started off a little flat in the beginning," Bergantino said of the Sharks' first half. "But we got in the locker room and got hyped up and knew we had to step it up in the second half."

Both teams started a little off, combining to shoot 9-of-37 from the field in the first quarter. The poor shooting continued into halftime for Wiregrass (9-6), as they shot 9-of-41 by intermission.

Wiregrass, though, forced Nature Coast (16-1) into 25 turnovers on the night.

The Bulls, down 41-30 entering the fourth quarter, stayed within striking distance the entire game. With 6:17 left in the fourth, Wiregrass fell into the bonus and the Sharks shot free throws well down the stretch.

Bergantino finish with 19 points, 15 rebounds, to go along with his six blocks. Antwan Prince and Tanner Carey paced the Bulls with 15 and 10 points, respectively.

"I still think we are right there," Wiregrass coach Jeremy Calzone said. "We just missed a lot of layups. I'm not saying the referees did a bad job, but they way they called the game changed our shots."
