Penguins respond to Canadiens

MONTREAL — The Penguins finally won without Sidney Crosby, and with some swagger, too.

Defenseman Alex Goligoski scored twice and added an assist, and Pittsburgh scored four power-play goals to end a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Canadiens on Wednesday.

Marc-Andre Fleury, who made 20 saves, crossed his arms in a pose as his teammates gathered around him at the end of the game. "I thought that's how you celebrate in Montreal," said Fleury, who grew up in nearby Sorel, Quebec.

Canadiens goalie Carey Price struck a similar pose after a shootout win over Pittsburgh last Thursday. "We made sure we could come back and put it in his face," said defenseman Kris Letang, who got his third assist on Pittsburgh's fifth goal.

The Penguins won without Crosby in the lineup for the first time in four games since their captain was sidelined by a concussion last week.

Game highlight: Corey Crawford made 24 saves for his second straight shutout and the host Blackhawks beat the Avalanche 4-0.

sharks: Rookie forward Logan Couture, the team's leading goal scorer (19) and who was picked to participate in the All-Star weekend skills competition, will miss at least one game because of a knee-on-knee hit from the Maple Leafs' Colton Orr on Tuesday. Orr got a two-minute minor penalty, which the Sharks thought was lenient. Canadian media reported the league won't further discipline Orr.
